“Our experience with John was nothing short of amazing from beginning to end. From the moment we met John to the date of completion, the journey has been the best expierence we have had with a remodeling and design company. John was not only creative, reliable and professional but he showed such a commitment to detail that we knew we would recommend him and only him for referrals.”

"I have known John for a number of years now. I first meant him at a paint convention. We hit it off right away because of our compatible personalities. I also had a chance to have him as a student in Italy. His work and professional attitude translate well in his work. He brings to our trade, the rigor and professionalism of a civil servant and his artistic knowledge and eagerness to excel is the perfect combo for your mural painting needs. I can safely say that with John Kiernan, you will be in safe and good hands. "

"I have been in this business for 25 years. I have been lucky enough to meet many of my colleagues in different countries and I have had several hundreds of students.
Some people are good professionnals and some others , for some reason, stand out. I am not sure I could say why those people are exceptionnal but whenever I meet one of them I think I can feel it clearly.
I still remember the first time I met John ...you could tell he was one of these persons..."
I am proud he asked me to write those few lines and I wish him success even if there is no need to do so.

“John converted our entire kitchen including the cabinets to an Italian Delight you would only see in Italy! The entire Kitchen is a work of art! I entertain often and loved to cook so when my guests come over we never leave the kitchen! John was very helpful in the transition and was able to explain in great detail what the kitchen was going to look like. Our concern was the cost of the project with all the custom art work, after it was completed I would have paid double!”

“A designer recommended John of Blue Line Studios to paint our kitchen cabinets as inexpensive solutions to re-facing and replacement of our kitchen cabinets. After looking at John’s web site and services, we assumed we could not afford him. John came to our home and was so helpful; he even surprised the designer by picking out the colors and made some pretty drastic changes. The cabinets were done in two weeks and we were under budget.”

“We had seen John’s work in Mclean at a friend’s home. We were so impressed with the meticulous craftsmanship that was done; we did not think to call anyone else. John’s knowledge and resources made the transformation so easy when he assisted us on hardware and counter tops. John even took the time to meet us at a granite/marble location and helped us pick it out. He was not only knowledgeable with the type of marble; he knew the staff very well.”

“We transformed my basement to a full walk-in experience. Since my business is in the Film Industry, it was important to me to review my documentaries in my own home with an audience. I could think of no other person who could have pulled this off except for John. His eye for detail made me look twice to see if it was real or not! "

“A faux finisher recommended John to do the mural work in our custom home theater. The images were painted on canvas and installed in our home. A airbrushed night sky was added after the murals were cut in place and hung. The atmosphere makes us as a family gets lost in our own home as if we were somewhere else, like how it is painted. ”My husband and I hired John after a designer recommended him to us. I wanted to create a scene in my basement where it would appear that you can walk into another room while playing pool. I didn’t want to use any people in the mural. I was just looking for something simple. After getting to know John, I realized nothing can be simple! John looks for the uniqueness in every job! As we walked throughout my home I was thinking about my father who recently passed. John felt that he should be added to the picture. When the mural was complete, I was speechless and my emotions took over. Looking at my father at the bar was so real! It was like he was with me. We wanted it to be painted on canvas in case we moved. Five years later we moved to Denver, NC. John removed the mural from the wall and installed it in our new home. We love this painting so much we had put it in our will!”

"Image caught my eye while I was looking for an artist online. For two years I had this image on my screen saver thinking the entire time that I could not afford it. One day I contacted John and after we spoke about my budget, I sent a deposit! My friends thought I was crazy because I live in Montgomery, AL, and John, who I never met, lives in VA. After the painting was complete, I flew John down and he installed it in one day! He made the process seem as easy as if he lived 10 minutes away. I could not wait to see my friend’s faces after it was hung!”

“A designer suggested calling John because we needed to repair a table that was done by a different faux painter. We were so delighted with john and his work; we decided to hire him to paint the rest of our home. John provided us with two detailed paintings of what he proposed to do with our entry ceiling. John was on time and worked every day until the job was complete to our satisfaction. Each day I enter my home I can’t help but look up!”

“I have known John professionally and personally for many years and I know him to be a results oriented person! I am the Commander of a local police station that has over 100 police officers. When asked what to do with a large blank wall, there was an overwhelming request from the officers to have John Kiernan create something. He has done murals throughout his law enforcement career, for our department, so this was an easy decision. John was aware that funds are tight, so on his own time came up with the concept and presented it to the Citizen Advisory Council. The money was raised in less than a week. Now this beautiful mural is proudly dedicated to the men and women at the Mason District Police Station and the citizens they protect!”

“I gave John a swatch that was a 2”square from a manufacture from another state. John was able to match this including the glaze overlay saving my customer thousands of dollars.”

“My son contacted Blue Line Studios after he had seen a large Washington Redskin Mural that was featured in the Washington Post. Mr. Kiernan came to the house and painted the “Green Monster” on his wall. I have to give my 13 year old son a lot of credit! He saw something he really wanted on his own and went for it. John met with us and worked within our budget! My son will have this up forever!”

"Furniture class in New York. That is the first time I met fellow artisan, John Kiernan. I contacted John for several large jobs in Tallahassee, FL, including the columns for the new First Court of Appeals federal courthouse in Tallahassee. The job was physically challenging with six layers of plaster on 16 columns that were 27feet tall. John met me in New York to come up with a finish to present to the Judges for approval. John arranged his schedule and was able to come to Tallahassee. He showed up early and left late every day, for this 8week project. I was able to stay within budget and get the job completed on time! I could not have done it without him. He is always dependable and hardworking.”

It has been said that a picture is worth a thousand words, and I cannot begin to express the exceptional artistry of John Kiernan's works. The painting of a law enforcement officer interacting with a child dressed as a police officer is a powerful representation of the positive influence that law enforcement officers can have on children. The painting captures the moment of care and concern as the officer presents a challenge coin to the young man, celebrating his birthday. This is just one of the many examples of John's remarkable ability to capture emotion and meaning in his art.
